My favorite Bar in Bordeaux LA CALLE OCHO

La CALLE OCHO has been my "QG" when I used to live in Bordeaux. Every Thursday evening, I came there to dance salsa sometimes directly after my work...

History

Since 1996, the CALLE OCHO was created on 8 March 1996 by Richard De La Cruz, after many trips to Cuba, Miami and New York with the idea to put together in one place with the dynamic Latin music, his sense of rhythm, colors and joy of life and partying.

The beginnings of this iconic place as his team marked a whole generation with the counter Cabrero brothers, Pascaline, Jc and Luis DJ always there to carry you with his music, Jean-Michel Daniel Giovanni Obregon course Frederic Martinez is now the director of the institution.

A timeless place

In 15 years, the "CALLE OCHO Cafe Cubano" became one of the most famous bars in Bordeaux. Voted best bar atmosphere of France, this unique place is renowned for its friendly appetizers and wild parties.

From 17h, an eclectic crowd finds an aperitif Tapas & Salsa over cocktails with names such as Cuba Libre, Daiquiri and Caipirinha. Not to mention the specialties to discover: Salsero, puñeta and of course, the famous Mojito!

The atmosphere changes over the evening to the sound of Latin rhythms: Salsa, Merengue, Bacchata, Latin House and Reggaeton. A dynamic and entertainment (dancers, drums, sax ...) team vibrate this cosmopolitan population in the friendliness and good humor.

Two compilations of Latin music has been performed in collaboration with Universal Music. Sold thousands of copies, they evoke the atmosphere and irresistible special evenings "CALLE OCHO Cafe Cubano". The third and final compilation has been released (in stores) in early 2011!
